GSL is an international consultancy, specialising in risk and impact assessment and supporting studies; radioactive waste management including waste conditioning, packaging, transport, storage and disposal studies; geosciences; nuclear safety; and risk communication. The company was founded in 1992, and is based in Oakham (UK). GSL has extensive experience in the development and conduct of probabilistic and deterministic performance assessment calculations for a range of nuclear safety and environmental problems. GSL has contributed to and led performance assessment and other radioactive waste management studies in the UK, Europe, Japan, and North America.

GTG is dedicated to delivering software and services to help people understand complex systems and make better decisions. GTG's principal product is GoldSim. GoldSim is a Windows-based computer program for carrying out probabilistic simulations of complex systems to support management and decision-making. GoldSim was developed to support evaluation of existing and proposed radioactive waste management facilities. GoldSim offers the power and flexibility to build realistic and credible simulations of repository performance that stand up to critical regulatory and public oversight. GoldSim has been used to support radioactive waste management in countries such as France, Germany, Hungary, Japan, Spain, Taiwan, the United Kingdom and the United States.

GSL and the GTG agree to the following:

  • To collaborate on a mutually beneficial basis in order to provide clear benefits to the client.
  • To support the promotion, application and understanding of the GoldSim code.

The agreement will be fulfilled by GTG providing GoldSim software and training, and by GSL providing consultancy services for the application of GoldSim to appropriate projects.

In undertaking this agreement with GTG, GSL has the following objective:

  • To make use of GoldSim, this world-leading risk assessment software, on behalf of clients worldwide.
